Good, not too costly Polks for use with NAD C326BEE amp
I recently purchased a NAD C326BEE integrated amplifier for use in my master bedroom. Mostly for music from my MacBook Pro computer which has lossless music files and Internet radio. I have been searching far and wide to find just the right speakers I can afford that will produce accurate detailed music reproduction with the NAD. NAD is famous for true output power being higher than rated though it's rated around 50w/channel into 8 ohms anyway.
I have read about the Rti series, the Tsi series and others. My listening levels are not going to be high. I am trying to match both power output from amp and needs by speakers so I have enough headroom and can adequately power some speakers. As far as a type of sound I think I already hit on accurate if that's the right way to describe what I want.
I am not a basshead, maybe a treblehead if anything. I want to hear the nuances in a recording. Fingers sliding across strings, details in instruments and vocals.
Which Polks would you recommend knowing I have to keep the pair under $500 preferably closer to $300? I also don't mind used Polks.

if you're looking for musical speakers from polk at that price range. Polk Lsi7 or Lsi9 is your best bet.
You can get by w/o a sub with lsi9s, since they go very low. I am using them now as computer speakers in my room. Get them on Ebay direct from Polk. -
I agree with the lsi7 or lsi9 suggestion. If you buy used, you should be able to find the lsi9 around $400 and the lsi7 around $300. While the lsi9 is more full range, it is also a little picky about placement (mostly needs to be at least 2' away from the wall behind them).

My choice would be RTiA3s - I had LSi7s. And while the LSi7s may have had the edge for 'musicality' - to me, they required some volume to 'wake up' - hence, my recommendation for low volume listening the RTiA3s have the edge. And if placed right will have quite sufficient bass.
Use any left over budget to buy some music
imho, of course.

I am running Tsi100s with my NAD C316BEE and I think it's a pretty good match. Seems like even the lower end Polks work well with the NAD equipment.

If the question were, "which set of Polk bookies does that NAD like the most?" The answer would be Lsi-7s hands down. Not quite enough power for the LSi-9s, but the 7s will sing with those. I used to run mine on a NAD C325BEE (previous model).
Yeah you have to turn it up just a bit, but not too much! Very musical for a smallish room.
I still run the 7s on a NAD, but moved up to separates an 80 watt x 2 NAD power amp and the Nak CA-5 pre-amp. Even better! But I don't run this as a "near" field system. It's on the other side of the room from my desk!
Currently $399 a pair from Polk ebay site:

Moving toward the smaller speaker end here is a vote for TL3 with a PSW111. I use these for near field in my office behind a Audioengine N22 and love it. You will have to work a little to keep this below 500.00 but it can be done.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH
