Is there a big difference in sound and performance in the 6.5inch driver vs the 5.25inch?
AVR - Onkyo NR809

    From anyone else I'd have just disregarded that post, but since its you VR I'll take your word for it. Really thats my mentality about most things. If your going to get something get the best. Just thought I'd ask cause they are kinda hard to find!

    I was recently in the same boat, and haven spoke with Matt at Polk, the difference between the 2 is so minimal that your ears probably wont tell a difference, so for now I am staying with the FX300i's and they sound great!!

    The 5's are designed to throw that soundfield into a bigger space/room, so in a small room the differences may or maynot be as noticeable. Trick here is getting the right surround speaker for your size of room.

    Well its 20x30 so the 5s may be the choice.

    I bought a pair of the FXI-5s off the Polk Ebay store and they are AWESOME!!! Given the size of your room, I'd be all about the FXI-5's. Amazon is running a good deal on the FXI-A6's in white, but they are essentially the same speaker.
