I didn't know about it. Thanks Brock.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Been wondering what the countdown was for. It would be nice to see in IMAX. Blu-Ray will do though. Thanks for posting.

Strangely I just found out about it too. But I have been out of the loop with Zep stuff lately and not checking my sources as often.
Dick Carruthers also did the Led Zeppelin - The DVD. He and Jimmy worked exhaustively on that project. I expect this be a real winner!
I am telling you, based on the bootleg(s) I have from this show, it's going to be most excellent. Robert Plant especially, sounded superb even in a raw audience recording. Page was spot on and I'm sure the few flubs Jason had will be masterfully edited to sound correct.

FINALLY! This is awesome news, I cannot wait for this.
Btw, did anyone see Jason Bonham's tribute band a couple years ago. He came to my town, and that show was smokin' hot. Awesome to see because he played small venues. The guitarist and bassist he had were full on clones of Jimmy and JPJ, and the singer did the best Robert Plant I've ever heard anyone do. Gotta figure Jason can get the highest qualified imitators on the planet....
This film should be great!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -
I went and saw this on the big screen last night. They had a very limited viewing at select theaters throughout the US. I believe it was only 2 nights.
I have a couple bootleg DVD's of the show as well as 7 different audio bootlegs.
They absolutely BLEW the roof off the place that night!! This DVD is a MUST have for any Zeppelin fan or music fan in general.
I was completely blown away by their performance, and I have an excellent bootleg DVD of the show I have been watching for years. Page simply steals the show and plays incredibly well and his tone and sound is downright hypnotic. His facial expressions and body contortions are classic Page!!! They were all really into it and smile abound throughout the show. They are having a great time romping through the Zep catalog.
Plant is right on the money and sounds fantastic and has a very high energy level. Again having the raw bootleg I could tell it was a special night, but now to see it professionally done. Doesn't appear they had to do too much touching up. They did fix some of Jason's flubs, but he played extremely well also.
All in all, I thought it was spectacular and a great Swan Song for the best band ever.
Buy Celebration Day, you will not be disappointed. Hard to believe they are in their 60's and still rocking it really, really hard. This is 10 times better than the Page and Plant stuff from 1995-1998.

People in the theater audience were clapping, whistling and cheering after each song last night. Great vibe and feel in the audience. All age groups represented too.
Camera work is top notch and it does become frantic in a couple places, but overall I thought it was well done. They had something like 12 camera's there. Lots of close ups and onstage views.
The video is very dynamic which goes along with the pace of the music prefectly. It just reinforces the power of Led Zeppelin music. My buddy and I were talking about how you could close your eyes and it really sounded like Zeppelin back in the 70's...............
The performance is that GOOD!!! And at 60+ years old that is no small feat!!!!
As Robert Plant said in an interview shortly after the show in 2007 "We played our 'effing asses off"....they sure did

sounds great, how did stairway sound.
Im sick of it like most people, but Deb loves it, it was the main reason we bought mothership,(not great).
Hoping Jimmy does a good job, if so it will be the first good live version I have ever seen him do.humpty dumpty was pushed -
Stairway is OK simply because it's the standard guitar solo. One of the best versions is from Earls Court in 1975 which appears on the Led Zeppelin DVD. One of the best, most fluid and unique solo's. 1975 was the peak for the Stairway solo for Page, throwing in all genres of music from classical to flamenco and a few other influences all tightly and fluidly wound up in about a 6-7 minute solo.
This was the short, to the point album version of the solo which he played in Celebration Day.

Jason didn't play a solo, did he?
I loved seeing Jason's band just after they abandoned the tour idea following the 02 show. He put together a great tribute band and they played in my town. He did Moby Dick, with a video of his father playing it synced on the big screen behind Jason. So Jason and Bonzo were playing it in perfect unison. It was amazing.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -

No he didn't but the fills in Kashmir and the ending of Rock and Roll are impressive!
I saw Jason Bonham and a different band of musicians in 1999 supporting a live CD he put out called "Zep Set - In The Name of My Father"

It was in a small local bar and we were literally a foot away from him. His band was awesome that night as they really played well. Back then Jason was drinking heavily and drank about 10 beers before the show was even half over. The band stuck around afterwards to talk, shoot the breeze, etc. Jason eventually came back to sign autographs. This was in a local bar not even really set-up for this type of live performance.
It was a great night and Jason is much more mature and in control than he was in 1999.

I saw Jason interviewed and he talked about what a bad way he was in back then, and credited Jimmy for pulling him out of it. He said that Jimmy told him he was emulating his father's worst traits, and if he didn't pull it together then his kids were going to grow up without their father, too.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Cool news for sure, thanks. November 19th circled on the calendar. Speaking of Page, has anyone else seen the DVD, "It / This Might get Loud" which starred Page, the Edge from U2 and Jack White ? It was pretty cool have an inside look at Jimmy Page's record collection.

This is one DVD I have been waiting for. As far as "This might get loud" That was a great show. Page was pretty laid back and it was cool to watch his mind work about music. I thought an added bonus was just watching his music stylings as he just casually played the guitar.

Has anyone gotten hands on the vinyl yet? I'm hoping mine arrives today.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
