Yesterday I picked up my marantz up after more than I week of waiting, the cost was $349.99 + tax.
I have not had a real chance to really listen to it yet, kinda under the weather with a head cold. It was on back order and I was really getting bumbed but all is good. It looks great and from what I can hear with my clogged ears
it sounds good too but I hope to really hear it this weekend.

I have it hooked up via digital optic but from what I read in manual I think I'll go with a good set of cables
instead.

Congrats, like you said in your other thread about the deal you were getting on this. $149.00 less than what it lists for you got a deal. I have a cd 5004 and a cd 5003 and enjoy them both. I know you are going to enjoy it, head cold or not.

    hi Jon1
Hope you had a good time with the6004. Sorry to come in late on this thread, but curious what you are using it for mainly, cds? Have you tried feeding it directly with the computer? It is not mentioned in the manual and I have no guts to try it as I am not sure of the voltage output from the computers are similar with Ipods and the likes. Anyone here can help out here?

I doubt it will work, because as far as I know, in order to output audio through a PC USB port, you have to be able to select the output device via the Windows control panel. I'm fairly certain the Marantz wouldn't come up as an output device even after connecting it to a PC using a USB A to A cable.

    Thanks Clipdat
I am using flash sticks for playback. Mostly wav file. The 6004does not read flac. I have recently encountered some problems with songs skipping half way thru occasionally. Checked the flash sticks in computer and playback in com with no problems. Wondered if any one here get this problems? Though I must mention that these skipping only happens on foreign language files. On English titled files it runs perfectly. May be language recognition error.
