Want to try something different. Adcom's are off the table but interested in what is out there. $300 is probably my max but if something really dazzles me I may go for it.

What speakers are you driving? I may have something that would be pretty awesome for $350 seeing as how you're local.design is where science and art break even.

I am probably going to be integrating my HT and 2CH so Lsi15's. I've got a great pair of speakers there in a good sized room for 2CH listening. It'll just be a matter of switching speaker cables. I've got a tubed pre set up so I just need the SS amp.

I have a Sumo Polaris in mint condition that fits your price range easily.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I've seen a lot of 2 channels in that price range on the bay! Why is Adcom off the table if you don't mind me asking??"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

Nothing at all wrong with Adcom. The 535 is one of my all time favs. It's just that I've been there and done that. I really want to try something different, that's all.

You could probably find a Kenwood Basic M2 or M2A for around 200 bucks. I really enjoyed the time I listened to mine. Pretty easy to sell too once you are ready to switch again. Think it will surprise you with the lsi15s.

let me know what floats your boat and I will keep a look-out for it. There are a couple vintage shops nearby and Cl here is rediculous. The Gear... In tjat price range tjere are a lot of choices out tjere. If u can find a nice parasoynd vintage amp like the hca 1200 i havr owned about a dozen amps in that price range b&k, adcom, crown, carver, ect, and found nothing to compair to the parasound in that price range. Also very upgradable and modable. Warm, accrate, clean ect ect ect. I dont have one for sale but i would but another in a heart beat.Main Rig:
Krell KAV 250a biamped to mid/highs
Parasound HCA1500A biamped to lows
Nakamichi EC100 Active xover
MIT exp 1 ic's
Perreaux SA33 class A preamp
AQ kingcobra ic's
OPPO 83 CDP
Lehmann audio black cube SE phono pre, Audioquest phono wire (ITA1/1)
Denon DP-1200 TT. AToc9ML MC cart.
Monster HTS 3600 power conditioner
ADS L1590/2 Biamped
MIT exps2 speaker cable -
In my search a Parasound or B&K are the ones I'm most interested in getting. The smaller the footprint the better.

Dave,
Don't bother with the Kenwoods. I've owned or had a long in home demo with all the classic Basic line back in the day were sold new, and they are really nothing special if just boring.

No worries about the Kenwood's. I'm pretty much stuck on a Parasound or B&K unless somebody dazzles me with something I can't refuse.

Well then..... :P -
Deronb1,
Just my unfiltered opinion. Plus Dave and I are buds and I'm just telling it like it is. Nothing personal

Slightly more than your limit at $319 new but I recently picked up a used one under that price recently - Ice 125ASX2. Have not done any critical listening but I heard the dual mono block version at NY RAVE and liked what I heard.

I thought it sounded nice, plenty of power and didn't do anything wrong."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -

Yep, I thought it got out of the way when I listened to them with Soundfield Audio SA1. -
B&K ST2140 may be something to look at.
I have one I use occasionally, Furutech fuse and Audio Note silver rca input posts, it is pretty
hard to beat considering the 140 watts (8 ohm) that it offers.
Sounds alot more refined than its specs would suggest.
Mono blocks would be my suggestion, but I know they would be out of that price range.
The ST series are all pretty good and being 90% point to point wiring, it is really easy to upgrade
most anything (even if it is just internal wiring).
5 way binding posts and rca inputs are a givin, and gravy to replace.
Not going to make it a Pass, but much better than stock.Testing
