I happened to have a pic on my laptop. It is not good, but you can see what they look like. I will get detailed pics.

They are the two in the center. Excuse the mess, it was a day I was experimenting with setups.

Shameless bump for a nice set of floorstanders. I have the 20/20's and you'll be getting alot of speaker for the coin here gents. Very capable in a 2 channel or HT scenario as these do both very well.

I'm interested but I'm wondering if they would be an improvement over the Polk 1.2 TL's? I realize they're completely different speakers...thoughts?

My answer is an enthusiastic yes, but I understand that some may feel that I may be biased since I am selling these. There are others here that will be biased toward the 1.2tl (understandably so, on a Polk board). I can offer you this: there are several of us on the forum who have moved on to the Legacy Focus from the big SRSes. I'm getting ready for the airport now, but I will comment more when sitting at the terminal.

Perhaps erniejade or tonyb will be able to add something more here.

Well, let me put it this way. I replaced SRT'S with Focus 20/20's and never looked back, and never any regrets. Not bashing anyone's baby either, the older SDA's are still a damn good speaker no matter how you slice it.

Let me add that these will show the weakness in your electronics, so good amps, cables, are a must. Don't let that 95 efficiency rating fool you, they love current being a 4 ohm speaker. Feed them well, and you may get off the speaker merry-go round with these.

I'm interested. I may sell one set of SRT to make room for these.

Agree they love the speed of a SS amp. I am currently looking into a AR pre.

I had the 1.2's. preferreded the sound of the legacy as well ( that is what I am also currently running) The 1.2 sda as said here is a darn good speaker especially for the $. It all comes down to your personal taste on sound. Anyone that buys them, you will not be disapointed. As pointed out, they do need current.

So what is the pecking order of the Legacy's? I have the 2.3tls' and wandered if it would be a step up, sideways or back?

I'm not sure what you mean by pecking order.

Within the legacy line of speakers it is second only to they're flagship, the whispers. And even then, some prefer the the focus because of its full bottom end. The whisper is open baffle and thus has less lower octave tactile impact.

The focus will fill any room a 1.2tl can. Moreover, I have found the focus to be more forgiving of smaller rooms. My suspicion is that it I due to the ribbon super tweeter.

I'm trying to find out more about this particular model online...are these the 20/20's? HD's? 1st generation of this particular model? .. do you know when these were manufactured? Thanks. Nice looking speakers btw.

    These are the originals.

From my discussions with Bill duddleston, the differences between this model and the 20/20 are marginal and utilize a super tweeter with a slightly different dispersion pattern, as well as some slightly more linear 12" drivers. From that discussion and others on the web, the original Focus and the 20/20s are nearly identical in performance.

As you can see reflected in the price, they are not completely perfect. They look it from the sitting position as the fronts are in excellent condition with no visible marks. The sides and tops are in very good condition with only small unnoticeable marks which appear to be moving scuffs perhaps. They are very tough to spot and hard to get on camera. The back has noticeable defects. One speaker is actually really good, but there is one that has some obvious moving scuffs. They are relegated to the back of this one speaker only. So, you are getting 7 very good to excellent sides and one that is not good, but it is the back. Anyone that has bought anything from me knows that I am very conservative in my descriptions and very picky. Anyways, I have reflected the condition in the price.

glenn, let me know what you would like close ups of, and I will take them. All the drivers are in excellent shape.

Also, I should mention, they look even better in person.

Well, Mr. Cheesehead.....next time you decide to get out of dodge, head south to Algonquin Illinois, and get your ears on some.

Wonder what these would sound like with crossover mods from Trey. Anyway, as others said, you won't be disapointed with these.

    Thursday bump.

There seems to be a lot of interest, but I have no commitments.

One other option: I am driving to Dallas, TX the second week of October. If you are along the route, I can bring them to you. If someone takes this option, I will require a down payment of 25% through Paypal or Google Wallet before I leave to show you are serious. My wife is going to torture me for hauling these with us and I will not survive the ride home if I still have them in the car.

Also, I am willing to make a package deal if you are looking for such a thing. I have lots of audio gear, and if you are looking for a good powerful amp for these or even a sweet turntable, I will give you a discount for grabbing multiples.

Well, they are made in our state's capital :)

I imagine it is similar to why Michigan is full of DCMs

The proximity combined with their sheer value for the money makes it no surprise that many in the area have them.
