I received and installed the RDO-194's today and in the process found on one of the original MW-6503's in the ?other? 10B had failed which being wired in series killed the the other speaker which ever it turns out to be. Good thing I ordered a second pair of MW-6503 with this contingency in mind. Every thing is installed and blasting. I got bludgeoned over at Audio Karma saying that according to the Polk Audio Forum the RDO-194 is better then the SL-2000, they are sonically challenged The RDO-194 is so much better then the, admittedly 20 plus year old SL-2000 it isn't even close. I now have a brand new pair of Monitor 10B's except for the passive radiators everything has been replaced on both speakers. Below is what I have been listening to with My new Polk Monitor 10B's, I am in a state of grace.,

02 - Cloud Age Symphony, Last Exile - OST 1 flac
02 - A Morning in Norkia Last Exile - OST 1 flac
01 - Road To The Light Last Exile - OST 2 flac
02 - Age Of Loneliness (Carly's Song) Cross of Changes, Enigma (1993)
03 - Dreaming In Colour, The Seduction Of Claude Debussy, Art of Noise
01 - Buffalo Jump, Tatanka, AIRO (featuring Brule') (2005)
07 - Spiritual Awakening, The Return, Bass 305
10 - I Wanna Be a Cowboy (Solar Twins Remix), Boys Don't Cry (1985)
05 - Dreamscape, Dune TV Mini Series OST. Graeme Revell (2000)
07 - Desert Trek, Dune TV Mini Series OST. Graeme Revell (2000)
03 - Main Title (House Atreides), Children of Dune TV Mini Series OST , Brian Tyler (2003)
01 - Fractale, Fractale Original Soundtrack, Souhei Kano, (2011)
02 - Harinezumi, Fractale Original Soundtrack, Azuma Hitomi, (2011)

I was forced into it when one of the original SL-2000 failed. The RDO-194 are really very good. One strange thing My Onkyo has the Audyssey automated speaker setup. I doesn't like the left hand 10B now, it reports a speaker error this is the one I just replaced the MW-6503. They sound fantastic but because Audyssey doesn't like the left speaker, where I cannot tweak the speaker balance the left speaker, the one Audyssey doesn't like is louder then the right channel. This sort of thing is a know issue with Audyssey.

Just change the sound equalizer setting to manual instead of Audyssey in the setup.
Then you can manually change volume level.
In my Onkyo, Audyssey is what volume level resets to when the receiver is turned on.
I can change levels on even Audyssey mode and should be same with yours.

Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

    Ditto X 10

One of the tracks I played has actual anvil strikes, these are the large anvils you would see in a blacksmith shop. If you listen in person to such an anvil strike it has a distinctive tick, ching, ring sound, even in their "green state" the RDO-194's reproduce this sound better the any tweeter I have yet listened to. H9 about how long is the break in period?

Im my experience about 200-300 hours. You may experience a change along the way that they sound worse, but they will come full circle again and finally settle in.

Until I get a 5.1 setup put together Audyssey will remain shutdown. I have things adjusted manually, I don't need some automated wa-de-do-da piece of software do a job I have been doing with mixing boards for many, many years.

Awesome! I've got a pretty good copy myself performed by the Scottish Philharmonic Orchestra on SACD. The anvil stikes will send shivers up your spine. Good Stuff!

Spencer Tunick is putting on Der Ring des Nibelungen and he is saving a great deal of money by not having any costumes, as in naked. Now I am far from being bothered by naked performances after all I have watched high art naked pole dancing in hoochie coochie bars:wink: Somehow watching Brunnhilde, and her 8 sister Valkyries, in Die Walkure belting out Ritt der Walkuren (Ride of the Valkyries) buck naked does not appeal to my artistic side.:frown:

How very interesting an umlaut (example a U with the two dots above) when typed here gives you a ? mark instead.

Glad to hear you like them. I see a pair of 194's coming my way in the near future. I'am assuming the sl 2000s I will replace will gather dust in the junk drawer, from what everyone is saying.

Actually I think it's the Peerless tweeters that are well regarded over there. And besides, anyone should know that a tweeter over 30 years old is not going to perform as well as something manufactured today. Tweeter technology has come a long ways.
