Just picked them up to complete my work on a pair of Monitor 5's and I'm not sure which terminal is + and -:redface::redface:

Is the bigger terminal + ?

I believe one is red, yes? Red is +
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I've received a number of replacement drivers from Polk with varying identification. The mid-bass drivers are usually harder and the tweeters mo' simple and obvious.

Red is indeed POSitive on replacement drivers but whether its a bigger terminal can sometimes change. The main factor you should always be aware of is what the OLD driver is using and connected with from the loudspeaker.

DO NOT disconnect your old driver without actually looking at it first, identifying what is POSitive and NEGative, since the terminals on older drivers can be sized differently and not so much user friendly.

When you receive the new driver, one terminal should be marked RED and this is indeed your positive lead. Don't worry if the leads from the loudspeaker are not the same size. They should be close and of similar gauge that the fitment will be snug enough to make solid contact.

If you have any questions about this or you encounter something odd, call Customer Service or more easily....post a thread here on Club Polk. There's not much that the user base here has NOT seen or helped with and we are available 24/7 where Polk Daily 9-5 CS is not.

CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
