can somebody help me for this problem? my FM tuner could not give me a signal to the receiving/amplifier. i thought the unit is doing well coz a led signal is flashing. but my amplifier could not detect the signal. i checked the connection from the tuner to the amplifier and everything is in place. but there was no sound at all. what might be the problem?

    Hello Richel,
Welcome to Polk's forum. Without knowing exactly how your particular FM tuner operates I can't be too specific, but the flashing LED could mean the tuner doesn't have enough incoming FM signal to lock in the station. Which model tuner do you have? Have you tried to receive a different, stronger radio station?

... and the corollary question: what are you using for an antenna and how far away are you from the station(s) you're trying to receive?

If your tuner has an "FM mono" function or a way to defeat its "between station muting", try either of those functions and see if your output goes from silence to static (hiss).

Also, what are you using as an amplifier ? Did the tuner work before, or is this something you just tried for the first time ?

am using a consumer tuner (sakura). been using it before and it works perfectly well for the purpose. the led signal shows that the fam/am signal from the station is going in. but the problem is that my amplifier could not amplify that signal. i think there is no problem with my amplifier coz if i plug in other aux, it works fine.

Have you tried connecting the tuner to an AUX or CD input on the amp? Also, is there an output gain (volume) knob on the front or back of the tuner?

thanks carl. i discovered that my equalizer got the problem. when i hooked my tuner directly to the amp, its bingo! i solved the problem by bypassing the equalizer. now i must have my equalizer serviced.
