Apparently I ordered this DVD from Amazon last night. I need a breathalyzer hooked up when using the iPad to order online. I'll let everyone know my thoughts when I receive. That's it.

Gotta love SRV! I often wonder how his music would sound if he were alive today. The man could sure play guitar!

Yeah, I was fishing a bit to see if anyone had seen or heard this one. I've done quite well on these impulse purchases lately, last one was about a month ago. Queens of the Stone Age - Over the Years and Through the Woods. Awesome show, and looooong. Can't wait for this one!

+10 on el mocambo, this was before he cleaned up, the biography i read talked about him putting a gram of coke into the shot of whiskey he kept on one of his speakers, and about halfway through the show, when he felt he was coming down, he would down the shot.

It is available on bluray, you might also want to check out austin city limits that he was on.

austin city limits was after he cleaned up, and it shows, neither is better, but earlier, he would take so many chances, and, like anyone on drugs, he could make more mistakes, and was sloppier, but part of his genius, he would always find a way back, no matter how weird it got for a second.

A funny note, srv was famously loud, and check out the guy in or near the front tables trying to shield his ear but not let it show.

Your lucky to be able to see this for the first time, its that good.

Well guys I lied to you all, I had seen this performance before, at least in part. When I was 13 or so one of my best friends dads was a SRV nut. I had seen it there. But talk about a show, both Voodoo Child and Texas Flood were barn burners. I think it was during Texas Flood AFTER he went over to his speaker where he turned pale as could be and looked like he was about to pass out, wonder what that was Scotty! Great show, highly recommend to anybody. BTW I got this shipped to my door from amazon for 9.99.

Hah, it was a looooong time ago, but that man did teach me a lot about loving music and introduced me to SRV.

But, I am a liar. Sorry to disappoint.

The version of Lenny in that vid is amazing, even with the sweat dripping off his nose. Being from Austin I've seen Stevie more than a few times...and I could tell you some stories too.
