New or Enhanced BDP-103/105 Shared Features:
- Latest generation QDEO which supports 4K upscaling
- 2x2 HDMI. Two HDMI inputs; Two HDMI outputs.
- The Front HDMI input supports HML (High-Definition Mobile Link) which allows some of the newer smartphones to be connected direct to the player and transmits the phones screen to the television. This also allows for ROKU Stick support.
- Newest Netflix interface which supports 1080p video, multi-channel audio, subtitle and alternative language selection, and Family Interface
- Gracenote for looking up media information such as album art, artist, album, and track information for your CD, SACD, and user generated media
- Backlit Eject buttons. No more thumbing around in the dark.
- No more analog video. There is a "DIAG" port, but this is to only see the OPPO UI when there is no media playback. So for those of you who use a small monitor for media playback, you will need to upgrade to a DVI/HDMI capable display.

New BDP-105 Only Features:
- Fanless (unlike the BDP-95)
- Headphone Amplifier
- Optical, Digital Coaxial and asynchronous USB DAC
- Properly oriented XLR outputs

As of this post, the BDP-93 is already out of stock at Oppo's website, with only refurbished models available.

So far, this is the only mention of retail price and ship date....
Pricing will be the same as the BDP-93 and BDP-95. The BDP-103 will be available in December for approximately $499.

The 95 has very positive reviews for its two channel analog sound. Hopefully, the 105 improves on that, and is more than the list above.

Hopefully they close the gap on the Sony S790 and offer competitive pricing. If not they will still be behind since more consumers seem to be after features like streaming, netflix/amazon apps, so time will tell. I'm not knocking Oppo at all, love their products just saying they have to get this right.

I dont believe Oppo's target base is the same as the $250 Sony, which took them 2yrs to catch up to the now discontinued 93 ( 95 is way beyond its class:mrgreen:) I for one use the analog feature set and would always like to have the option in this ever changing digital world. As a side note the features these new players have where asked for mostly by there loyal fan base and looks like they will deliver once again and most likely with a few more cool ones we didn't ask for:smile:.

    Ya just gotta love that!

The Oppo BDP-103 (still offering HDCD decoding and analog multi-channel outputs) is up on Oppo's website....

    http://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-103/blu-ray-BDP-103-Support.aspx

Meanwhile, the BDP-105 has received its own page as well. It looks like a beast of a machine

God I wish they would go to a Silver option,I hate black equipment(not racist.lol).....I need the PAL/NTSC conversion as i have alot of Movies and Boxsets in Pal(I have the Toshiba BDX1250KU) Blu-ray player, which plays Pal/All Region Discs.........Does anyone know if the 103 will play all-region Pal discs?....If the Oppo 105 had a digital input,so you could use it as a Dac,it would be a killer.......I never understood why oppo doesn't have this feature....peter

maybe besidses Parasound ( and they make black also) I do not think I ever saw a silver piece of electronics that Looked Good.Black
seems to be the industry standard whether it's made of plastic or steel. Then you have vintage Marantz receivers that were silver
faced w/ black/brown cases. If anyone ever speaks to a line production manager ask them why no silver and probably they would say 1 color is less expensive than producing 2.

That is funny. Expensive is in the $4000-$6000 range for a Bluray player. Oppo is entry into decent level gear. Sub-Oppo prices are in the "you get what you pay for" category. I upgraded my BDP-83 to the 93, and it had a better picture. I quess it is time to upgrade the 93 to the 103, and use the 93 as a spare. Always good to have a decent spare available.

These units do much more than just play dvd/blueray, correct?

Digital Noob question but this would replace the CD, DVD/Blueray plus becoming the system DAC for other gear? (music library)
