Hello Everyone,

New here. Was directed to the forum by the folks over at audiokarma.

I have a friend of a friend who is offering me some Polks that are, according to them, from the 70s. They have no idea what they model they are. They are in decent nick, not sure if they are working. It is a bit of a hike to go and have a look at them, so I thought I would post here and see if someone could ID them for me and tell me whether they were worth the drive for a look-see.

They are floorstanders, approx 30cm x 30cm x 100cm / 1' x 1' x 3' in dimensions. Here are the only pics I have of them.

Can anyone help me with an ID and whether they are worth getting?

Hi and welcome to Club Polk! They are RTA12s from the 80s. They are very well regarded and would be a great intro into the vintage Polk sound. Go for it!

Is he offering them to you for free? If not then the asking price might be out of line too high. What ever.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Great speakers! But....what's the asking price? How far away are they? I mean, if you have to drive from Miami to Anchorage....then no, leave them alone.

Thanks everyone for the ID and advice. Much appreciated. Haven't had the chat about price yet. Should be cheap, but not sure how cheap. Sounds like they are at least worth the drive. Thanks again.
