It's a very good amplifier although I don't know the going rate.
Hafler, in case you didn't know, is David Hafler of Acrosound and later Dynaco fame. In the 1970s, he started yet another company, bearing his own name, selling very good quality, no-frills and affordable components (amps and preamps) in both kit and assembled form.
There's a Hafler preamp visible just to the right of the big momma power amp in the first photo in the CL ad. The preamp was bare-bones, but quite good. -
Haflers are nice amps, so are a number of the pres for the price. They have a nice "warm" sound and good power. I'm also not sure that 250 is a good price here.
At 45 lbs and 255 watts x 2 into 8 ohms. Maybe 250 is "not" a bad price? Looks like it might be a "kit" amp. Some were pre-built, others not.
