Bought tickets for their show in Chicago on Tues and today bought tickets for their show in Milwaukee. I am incredibly excited. In my opinion, one of the best bands ever. Anyone else going?

I thought they were alright. Is the original line-up back? Cheap Trick is from Rockford where I live and I see Rick Nielsen around town a lot. After a 'Trick' show here in town we saw Billy Corigan crossing the street downtown heading to meet Rick at a local joint. He was a total **** and had no time for anyone, of course this was before the crash and burn of Smashing Pumpkins......perhaps he's a bit more humble these days.

One cool thing I liked about Billy is the props he always gives to Cheap Trick for being a huge influence on them.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. NO. I believe Billy is the only original member left.

I saw them twice in '94 on the Siamese Dream tour. First show in Memphis, Tn was awesome. Second show in Oxford, Ms, someone threw an article of clothing on stage 30 minutes into the show and Billy stopped the show, cussed everyone ond walked off stage. What a dick!

Billy is the only original member in the line-up, but he wrote all the songs and played all the instruments on some of their studio albums (not drums). He is the Smashing Pumpkins.

Saw them in 1994 at lollapalooza. They were the headlining band - worst set of the entire day. Someone jumped on stage and Corrigan stopped the show, cussed out the crowd and walked off stage starting a near riot in the crowd literally. He was the most, arrogant, smug, ridiculously annoying POS I have ever seen and swore I would never buy his crappy music again. The Beastie Boys and Tribe Called Quest, Black Crowes and many others owned that show anyway. Smashing Pumpkins sucks A$$ and always will solely because of that miserable, no talent A$$ clown.

    Rant over.

Yup. That's pretty much the MO on Billy Corgan. Never quite achieved the "rock god" status he set out for and everyone around him has had to suffer for it.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I guess I'll sit and rock out to some pumpkins. I think they have a solid sound. They are rolling through town but am unsure if I'll go see 'em.
