Ok - just having some fun.

It's your garage rig...what do you feel is lacking? Did you want to get 'serious' about stepping up the sound quality or going multi-channel? Are your neighbors ok with the 'noise' or do you keep the garage closed up?

Serious time!! Only two channel, and the neighbors have no weight in the subject. I am leaning towards a nice intagrated tube pre?

So you're thinking of a tube pre and keep the pio as the power section?

I see you have an ipod dock - is that the only source component in your garage rig?

I have an H+H power amp getting recapped right now. Its 250 w at 8 ohms per side. Haven't hooked them to 10's. Have to know its as good as it can be before doing so!

I'm not a tube guy....yet...maybe....so you'll have to wait for some ideas on where to go with that.

    But isn't the H+H a 'pro amp'?

Wouldn't matching that to a tube pre be like dropping a 350 short block into a Mercedes chassis?

Get yourself a big Parasound amp with a little tube preamp. This won't break the budget and will provide good sound quality with some clean power for those Model 10's. Do it now and you'll thank me later.

Since I'm an internet expert and love spending other people's money - I was going to suggest going with a used tube integrated amp and used CD player.

Jolida JD-302CRC for the tube integrated for $1k used on audiogon
Used Oppo 83SE for $550 used to double down the duties for Bluray in the garage *and* CD/SACDs to the Jolida.
