calibrate volume at 404

what does this mean? and how do i do it? my new receiver has a microphone that adjusts the speakers ,or so it says. i still havent hooked it up yet,im obviously still reading.
anyhow,so would my pioneer calibrate the sub automaticaly?or is this somthing i do? and if it is....... back to the above..........what does it mean,and how do i do it.?

The MCACC feature is pretty sweet. Basically it will calibrate the speakers, including the sub. Your -55 manual should give you all the info you need regarding proper use of this feature. I would think that the sub volume knob would be set to the highest position, and the reciver will out put the proper LFE signal volume based on the MCACC calibration and the point at which you set the Peak Bass Limiter.
I know that reading the manuals for some of this stuff can be a royal pain, but it really is worth it in the long run. Hang in there, you'll be glad you read all the techincal mumbo jumbo in no time!
