Need suggestion for surround side speakers for my 7.1 setup

Front : RTiA7
Center : CSiA6
Sub : DSW 660Wi
Surround back : F/XiA6
Surround side : ??

Now looking for a good pair of Surround Side speakers i am not looking for something expensive cause the surround
side speakers won't be used most of the time and even if they are used with Pro Logic IIx then only for few effects,
RTiA7 from front and F/XiA6 from the back will look after most of the sounds on my HT
Suggest me something from POLK itself and my budget is nothing more than $250 - 300 ...I am really not looking for
any high watts speakers as i said i just wanted to get that 7.1 effect and my room is quite big ...
So please suggest me guys ....

The surround sides get the workout in HT not the rear surrounds. The rear surrounds kick in nicely for the Pro Logic IIx as you pointed out. Unless it's in 7.1 (not too much to date) they don't get used a lot. I'd put the F/X on the sides & use another speaker for the rears.

The Polk OWM3 & OWM5 look interesting & offer a ton of mounting options. Priced right too. Check them out.

They look really nice + good mounting options .... But will that go fine with Rest of the RTiA series ?

From what I understand they should jell nicely with other Polk speakers. Might want to double check w/ Polk but I think they match up well.

If not, do you really think Surrounds are needed if you have the FXiA6 in the rear?

I have yet to install, but I have a very similar setup, and went with a pair of mint Rti4's.

I got them for $90. I plan on mounting very close to the ceiling, and wanted something smaller and unobtrusive.
    Polk Fronts: RTi A7's
    Polk Center: CSi A6
    Polk Surrounds: FXi A6's
    Polk Rear Surround: RTi4

    AVR: Yamaha RX-A2010
    B&K Reference 200.7
    TV: Sharp LC-70LE847U

Move FXi A6s to sides. Stay w/RTi A series - go with either pair of referbed RTi A1/3s or, if your SSP/AVR allows a single rear channel, a CSi A4.

Also I find DD and, to a lessor degree DPL, to have quite a bit of side & rear* channel* info. So much so w/out side/surrounds most any title seems 2 dimensional. Granted their output doesn't compare overall to LCR output but still...
    * my former set up used a third RTi A1 as a rear center

^^^ A solid recommendation. FXi to side surrounds and RTiA for backs. That's exactly what I'd suggest, too. Similar to my setup and it works very well for me.

That's what I'm running in the 7.1 except mine are the Rti line not RTiA's.

RTi 10 (Mains), CSi 6 (Center), Rti 6 (Rear surround), FXi A4's (Side surrounds). I'm happy with the sound of these for movies. The Rti 6's are over kill for rear surrounds in a 7.1 set up but they were what I was using for rears in a 5.1 setup before I went 7.1 and added the FXiA4's.

Stick with something in the RTi A line for rear surrounds, you can't really go wrong with that choice.
