Multi-channel amp or multi amps?

I'm slowly setting up my system to cover both 2-channel and home theater. I've got Polk SDA SRS 1.2's in the front, plan to get LSICenter and FXi rears.
I'm considering powering w/ either a single 5-channel amp such as the Adcom 7805 w/ 300w/channel or buying 2 or 3 separate amps to make up a 5 channel system. For example, I've considered the Adcom 585LE for the SRS's and an Adcom 5803 for the rears and center channels.
Anyone have experience w/ these amps?? Any suggestions??? Other brands to consider?? I'd like to stay less than $1500, thus I'm looking used equipment.
Thanks,
Drew

Drew, I use Adcom equipment, and have for over 12 years now (they made up my first true stereo system). For the money, they are tough to beat. They give you a taste of at least the entry level to true hi-fi. Also very reliable too. Not to say that there aren't other good brands out there, ie. NAD, Rotel, etc., but with Adcom, you can't possibly go wrong.

drew,
I would add Sunfire to your list.
The Cinema Grand can be had for ~$1000 used. It's 5 x 200 wpc. For around $1800 you're in range of it's big brother, the Signature Cinema Grand at 5 x 400 wpc.
Both employ Carver's load invariant design, meaning that they double their output into 4 ohm loads. They even come close to doubling again into 2 ohms. Just the thing for low impedance Polks.More later,
