    Wait... I thought the MP3 format was verboten...

    That sucks. While I guess it is better than nothing, encouraging poor sounding music is not very smart PR for a speaker company.

    We can only hope, Polk may be willing but dealing with the music industry is like dealing with a female divorce lawyer.

    They don't make it easy to find but here is the link to the Free Music;
    http://www.polkaudio.com/dotw.php

    The first selection:

    Got Me Under Pressure
    by ZZ Top
    on Live From Texas

    The only thing is has going for it is it is free, I wouldn't pay 10 cents for it. It would be a waste to code this in FLAC.
    I like ZZ-Top but I am not a fan of Live performances. I want to hear the band not a bunch of cretins screaming at the
    top of their collective lungs.

    Thanks :) I like ZZ Top and also enjoy live performances :) This is a lot different than the recording we all came to know and love, but it's still good IMHO.

    I suppose I am being too harsh. I have this release in Apple Lossless, I still prefer the a studio performance but there is a place for a live performance if for nothing else historical reasons. I also shouldn't look at a gift horse in the mouth. Note what I said about the female divorce lawyer. Polk is at the mercy of the recording studio's. For an example of how it should be done is here: Gimell Records

    http://www.gimell.com/recording-josquin---missa-de-beata-virgina-and-missa-ave-maris-stella.aspx

    You can order a CD of this performance but you loose if you do the best quality recordings are for download including FLAC in 5.1. You can listen to samples in all available formats before you download. I have these performances in 5.1 and they are utterly sublime.

    Surround Sound 5.1 FLAC
    Studio Master 48 FLAC 24bit 48kHz 1,694.9MB $23.99
    Studio Master 96 FLAC 24bit 96kHz 3,196.2MB $29.99

    I know this isn't free music but this is the future the RIAA does not want us to have.
