TSi100 as computer speakers

Hi all, this is my first post on this forum. I am also new to this audiophile world and taking my baby steps.

I am going to buy a TSi100 and use it as my computer speakers, since those speakers are passive, I will need an amp.
My question is, if I buy a PSW110 active sub-woofer, can I hook my TSi100s to the sub-woofer? If I do this do I still need an amp?

Please help me out ASAP, all comments on the performance of these speakers are welcome as well.

In short, yes. The speaker level connections on the subwoofer are not powered by the subs amp.

So what you're saying is that I will still need an amp? Sorry, I'm a bit lost here.

    Hello,
Welcome! Yes, you will need an external amp to power the speakers.

    My review is here: http://www.polkaudio.com/products/tsi100#reviews

For best results I would suggest moving them further away than monitor distance from your ears.

Do you guys have any suggestion for a nice amp that can provide 100W that won't break the wallet?
@jimbo1421 How far would you suggest it to be?

It's best to avoid posting the same question multiple times, better to just stick with one thread so that others can follow along and replies are all in one place.

You can do what I have done for several decades on the line out either digital or analog from you sound card, or on the board sound run a line out to a receiver of your joice. There are numerous choices Sony, Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer, Marantz, etc. Check out this link http://www.crutchfield.com/g_10420/Home-Theater-Receivers.html?tp=179 I always suggest Crutchfield because I have been a customer of theirs for 39 years. These are 5.1, 7.1 Home Theater receivers. None of them have to be used as a surround sound system they will do stereo just fine but you have the option should you want to. Depending on which model you get you can add DLNA, (which connects the receiver to the PC via ethernet) Net streaming services such as Last FM, vTuner, Spotify, etc.

Try to set up an isosceles or equilateral triangle with your head at the apex. 5 feet or more if you have the space. At normal listening levels for an office (not rocking out) I didn't mind them being closer.

Hmm, I see. Someone told me that TSi100's are not designed for near-field listening, so now I'm thinking of getting a Swan instead, which one would be the best? Budget can go as high as 650USD. I'll prefer a 2.0 and an extra sub. I'll prefer an active speaker, so unless their's a very good reason, I'll most likely not choose the TL3.
