Hooked hp my Monitor &s to my new Yamaha receiver and wow is all I can say. Was gonna sell them, but glad I did not. Even thinking about selling my Monitor 70s now, 7s sound just as good if not better. How bout that for a 30+ year old pair of thumpers???

Monitor 7s are just like the Hokey-Pokey..that's what it's all about.

Can sympathize with that. I have a pair of Monitor 10s that will probably replace my M-70s at some point. Not because the M-70s are bad but because the M-10As are better for double duty (really smoother with music, gotta love that Peerless--I find a lot of Polk tweeters, exempting the vifa, just too "hot" for my musical tastes).

What is a fair price for a in min condition of Mon 70s? I paid 400+ for them a few years back.

That sounds like a reasonable price. But expect some to "low ball" you on CL. You should probably be prepared to come down to 250 if necessary, of if things don't sell at 300!

That's a tough call. How much do you "need"? I think 250 is eminently reasonable with local pick up. Anything less and you're almost giving those away. Remember newegg puts M-50s on sale for less than 200 but NOT that much less! And those are the "entry" level!

I will go as low as 250.00 but not lower. They are expensive speakers. Newegg has the series II for 179.00 each so I guess I am in the ballpark.

250 would be an excellent deal for someone. And you're right 360 new is a fantastic price for those (I think I paid that, myself and was tickled pink at the savings--thought I got a great deal!).
