The Onkyo A-9050 is set for release in October. Of course, it's available in silver....just not in the US.

- 75 watts/channel
- Optical/coaxial digitals
- Wolfson 192 kHz/24 bit DAC
- phono input
- stereo pre-outs
- subwoofer output
- detachable power cord

Wonder why they discontinued the A9555, which seemed to be a better integrated than this new model in some ways? Although this is a bit more affordable!

I see this new integrated amp more as the Onkyo TX-8050 stereo receiver....but without the AM/FM/internet tuner. It will be discounted once it hits the market. I'm thinking a street price of around $375.00. The A9555 was more esoteric in terms of technology used.

That's a good point. Makes sense. Plus I see that unlike the A9555 this has DACs; Wolfsons.

I think these 2 channel stereo receivers and integrated amps with build-in DACs, which also includes HK's 3490 stereo receiver, are marketed to those who plays their music from their computers, in addition to regular stereo source components.

I have yet to hear a Wolfson based unit that knocks my socks off. No USB input is a real deal killer. And finally I hate all the supposed technology acronyms, which almost always are more marketing than real sound benefits. Price point seems right however.

Dare I say I agree with Brock. I always thought the 9555 would be a very nice little amp if it had a usb in.
    Too much **** to list....
