well. when i got my new car I decided i was going to go all out. I ordered great sound deadening, great wires, an MS-8, nice kenwood excelon amps... everything in my sig.

The install took a few days that i had off of work, and although it wasnt complete, it was 100% connected, i just didnt finish the amp rack and some cable management.

Now, i am living in an apartment, with very little time with full time student and 40 hours of working.
I mentioned before that i thought my tweets were blown, and they aren't.

However, what i get right now is a single random POP. It happens twice every 40 mins or so on the way to work and on the way home.

Any ideas? I know i need to finish the install, but what do i look for, ive never had this issue.

A loud pop has gotta be a wire shorting out somewhere. Check all connections especially at the back of the speakers and head unit. That's usually where a connection problem is.

I would try to narrow it down first by eliminating the HU and plugging an Ipod or mp3 player directly to amp. I have had a Kenwood HU that had same issue, was factory warrantied, swapped it out and everything was dandy. At least if you eliminate the HU it narrows your search. And of course double checks all grounds.

Ha! Welcome to car audio. If you do an install and don't have to rip stuff apart to find problems at least a half dozen times, you've done something wrong and should take it apart just for good measure.
