Agreed. Probably the best night any of 'em will have for at least four more years.

I didn't watch the RNC last night but caught the highlights on the local news this morning. I live in a very left leaning liberal city and personally having conservative viewpoints just doesn't fit too well..

Local news made negative comments about Clint Eastwood's speech saying things like it was awkward, convoluted, made no sense and so on. Typical response from people here. I only watch about 10 minutes of news in the morning while having coffee.. it's about all I can stomach.

Glad to see Eastwood get up and speak, but fully expected the left to do their best and tear him down. Which they are doing. Quite sad.

A true classic for sure!!! The poor liberals all have there shorts in a tizzy. They have no comeback...simply attack, attack, attack. It's just too bad they have absolutely nothing positive to talk about. After 4yrs of laying the biggest pile of dung on the country what did you expect from them. Pack'em all on a boat & send them to Greece.

Clint is not one to pull punches. I suppose that was a lift from something Japanese. The Noh Chair. Certainly, humorous even if some of us might not agree or even have a few relatives left in Greece (cradle of Democracy and Western Civ)? lol

I don't have any problem with what Clint did as someone on the other side. I think "humor" is a fine political tool. We need to laugh more, and take ourselves less seriously so we can actually talk across party lines and stop referring to ourselves as conservative vs. liberal.

Enjoy the moment. I didn't watch much of this convention and probably won't tune in to the Democratic equivalent either. Too much posturing and political theater for me.

Tizzy? Comeback? Just because all that's happened at the RNC is a stew of blaitent falsehood and lies, doesn't mean the libs are attacking when they call those lies out. I'm not a dem, but I'm sure not going to vote for another rich, totally disconnected, politician. You guys made a terrible pick, again. Let's vet what his VP had to say...

Watching Fox or MSNBC for 'journalism' is pointless - you'll never get the time back - both are more interested in seeing who can score the most points and eyepokes against the other that actual 'reporting'.

Most of the time I agree, but if find it very interesting that fox news, NBC, and the the times ALL immediately pounced and this speech and all its, um, half truths. Its not too often that they all agree!

Clint did well. I also liked Rubio's comment about his father:

"A few years ago, I noticed a bartender behind the portable
bar in the back of the ballroom. I remembered my father, who
worked as many years as a banquet bartender. He was grateful
for the work he had, but that's not like he wanted for us. You
see, he stood behind the ball all those years so that one day I
could stand behind a podium, in the front of a room."

I've always liked Clint, and I agree with a number of the pundits that he did steal the show.
I thought it was funny and he did make some good points, but honestly my overall impression was one of sadness.
I know he is getting up there, but I always see him as that straight shooting man of few (yet hard hitting) words; not the guy who stumbles and stutters through a monologue.
Oh well, we're all getting old.

I found Clint's time on the stage quite refreshing compared to the usual polished speeches. In fact, it was so brilliant that most of the left and the media didn't get it.

Now, if you want to see someone stumble and stutter, take away a certain somebody's teleprompter.
