Looking for advice on streaming. I have a synology DS3611 and DS2411 NAS. I have ripped my entire movie collection and Cd collection onto it. I can stream movies and music from it from anywhere I have internet access. the speed is amazing and each can hold about 36 terabytes. Here is the problem; I have a folder with all my cds in windows lossless format. I can only decode this on a windows computer (which I have connected to the Brick DAC). I also have a folder with all the cds compressed into an apple format. When I stream movies to my TV it first goes to a western digital TV Live and this is hooked up to my yamaha RX-A3000 via an HDMI cable. The western digital can decode the compressed music format but not the windows lossless. So I can only listen to the compressed folder through my yamaha stereo. Has anyone found a way to stream windows lossless audio from a synology NAS to their home theater stereo without use of a computer? To listen to lossless music i am currently streaming music to a computer hooked up to the Brick dac then Dodd preamp and then dynaco MkIIIs. I would also like to be able to listen through my yamaha.
