adding subs

Thinking of adding a couple more subs. I have a yamaha rx-v571, and thinking of adding a pair of DSW 550wi 0r 660wi to the current set up. Mains are rit a5's and using DSW 440wi as lfe. Anyway here is my current problem The only bi-amp option for this reciever is with the B-channel speakers, which is also the rear surround channels.
Anyway, I was wondering if I could hook the subs up to the main output of the reciever, and then run the A5's off of the subs output, without damaging anything.
Thanks in advance, and will also welcome advice on other sub options.

You will not damage anything using the sub output like that but the sub out does not send full range signal so I don't think it would be what you want.Absolute corruption empowers absolutely.

Thanks for replying. I was fairly certain that this wouldn't work, but you never know until asking.

You can use a y-cable from the subout on the yammy to lfe in on the two subs.

I wanted to try that since I am running my subs off the mains into a 2way xover but I think to use the sub out I would have to select "sub on" on my avr thus I would pull LF info from the current mains ( thats less bass to the mains )
so I figure run all subs off one dedicated source .
Biggest lesson here try differant sub locations before you add more subs , I have a sweet spot location where-as even more subs in differant locations dont sound as good as that one location , so I put 4 twelves there -
I'll probably end up using a splitter, but I really do need to upgrade the sub. I have tried placing it in various positions, but there just doesn't seem to be enough volumn coming from the sub I have. When listening to music, everything sounds great. The problem is with HT. It just seems that the sub I have isn't big enough, so a new sub or 2 are in the future.

Do a google search for "Multiple home theater subwoofers) I'm in the process of going with multiple, myself. I had a couple PSW505 12" subs, and was thinking about adding a couple 8" subs to add tighter, more musical bass. The thing is, without much extensive bass management, and seperate EQs, you can actually limit the overall performance my mixing subs. So, I'm going with four of the PSW505s. I have 3 now, and am getting some wire fishing done tonight. I'll have to update when I get everything finished, probably later this month.
Good luck!

Problem is I've never really considered myself a bass-head. Figured I'd only need it for HT/FX. So I got a little DSW 440WI. This would probably be a perfect sub for a sound bar, but not for what I'm doing. Currently have RTi-A5's for fronts, RTi-A1's for rears, CSi-A4 for center, and will probably get FX/A6's for surrounds.
My mistake was not realizing how much extra bass HT needs. So I'll have to start thinking of different subs in the near future.
