Just called them and it is official, they have closed their doors due to a lack of business. Bummer! I guess Roland is now the way to go.

While I'm at it, I called them to see if they had some meter bulbs for a TFM-45. Anyone know of any good options? I know I can get them on the bay for $12. Any other options? From what I understand, Roland doesn't sell parts.

    Thanks!

I just bought a pair of the bulbs on eBay you mentioned. Replacing bulbs in a Tfm-45 also. I'll let you know what I find when they arrive...

Wow. First the Squeezebox, now this. Anything else going to disappear today? I don't own any Carver stuff, but have always held him and his products in high regard. Shame.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

    Thanks Jlbradley87!

The person I talked to said that Bob was still selling his new tube amps but the service shop is closed.

Wonder what this will do to owners? I've always wanted to try a used Carver out of curiosity.

I have a friend who has an old Carver receiver (near the TOTL) that he's storing as junk because he's never been able to repair it?

With all the people who have Carvers on this site alone. It's hard believe there is NOT enough business?

The other issue is that it's hard to get service info for a lot of there stuff not all tho. Try even getting a part list for a sunfire amp.

I would not be afraid of buying a carver piece. There is plenty of places I think locally and around that repair.
My local repair shop here in Woodridge IL does sunfire and carver repair. Try looking locally for a place.

Speaking of Rolland, he does great work but, he is back logged right now. I got my Sig II back from him. He re-capped the powers supply and worked his magic on it. What a difference in sound.

Thanks gdb! Good to know about AVL. They are even closer than BCAR was. Just ordered these lights for my TFM-55. I hope they work.

Oh! Please keep posting on the lamp and it's functionality. I assume its the same lamp as the Sunfire. I have seen the led conversion but much prefer the original.

The 419 sure looks right doesn't it.

I recently had my Sunfire 5x400 completely rebuilt by Rolland at Hi-Tech on a rec by the one and only F1 and it was a great experience. He replaced every part that could need it and then some and said to expect a good 30 years service if used properly. All for just under a grand which IMHO is a deal for all he did.

I found that recommendation on the Carver site (very simple solder job). I'll keep you all posted on how it works.

I bought a schematic for my A-753x on ebay for that very reason. I am not electronics guru but I wanted one so if I needed to get it repaired I would have one.

I'm glad my Carver Mono Blocs are still going strong and hanging in there... they kinda look like "Crap" but still brings me joy.. had since 1990. sent them to the shop only once not too after I bought them.... thank you God. When the money comes in I'll be buying another amp.. I'm married now and my wife helps with the Finances. I can't spend right now like I used to.

The issue with Sunfire is you can't get schematic for a lot of there stuff I have try so far with no luck. At this point all I want is a part list so I can order all the caps without having to tear down my amp to make a list first.

John, I would really love any info you could get even if it was just the part list with values so I can order what I need.
