RTIA front stage color matching question.

Hi, not sure if I should post this here since it is more of a cosmetic concern but I hope somebody know the answer.

Going through the site here for my new home theater, I saw the Rti a7 in the cherry color and really like the look of them. But when looking at the rtia family for a center speaker the csia6 and csia4 do look a lot more red in cherry.

On the other hand the TSIs have they're matching center color matching.

Is it only the pictures?

So beside going in black what are my options. Can I take the cs20 with some rtia or should I stick with the tsi line?

I would like to know before driving around to hear them.

The cherry version of the RTi A7's and either RTi center channel are a perfect color match. They are real cherry wood veneer, not something colored to look like cherry.

There power hungry. So your gonna want a quality reciever or amp to drive them.

I would think so. Do yourself a favor and get the csi a6 if you have the room for it. Much better soundstage with the larger speaker. IMO

should be good for your size....I use RTI bookshelf on my 13x19 room with opening to kitchen with equal size and stairs to 2nd floor...

I'm planning an identical setup in a similar room (20'X~25').

As far as cosmetics are concerned, the only issue you may have with cherry is matching it to other shades of "cherry." For example, my coffee table is cherry, and it's a bit different than the RTiA7's. Similarly, some of the BDI stands appear as though their cherry finish is slightly different than the speakers (and different than the cherry coffee table).

IMO, cherry finishes are tough to match. Your speakers will look identical, but may not match anything else.

matching colors across furniture is not really a problem... I actually want those speakers in cherry to stand out from the living room (the rest is brown/black).

so while discussing my setup, what should I get for surround...I'm planning 7.1. I was thinking to get 4 F/XiA4 since my couch is right next to the wall.

I believe (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that your rear surrounds should be direct firing speakers.

Personally, I'm opting for Rti4's.

oh, I was under the impression that dipole were better for HT setup.

Di-poles are good for your L/R surrounds, but back surrounds (7ch) should be direct radiating speakers.

Matching wood colors can be difficult.. I gave up and chose a cherry color to "compliment" my dark cherry tv stand/equipment cabinet.

I wish my RTi-A speakers were in cherry, but since they are being moved into the dedicated HT black is fine.

Thanks my idea of back surround being dipole too came from this avs forum thread.

Also 1 of my other choice of speakers is the aperion 5T that give you 4 bi-polar surrond in 7.1 config. I understand the direct back surround are the standard.

I'll have to listen to both before making a decision.

You want those or the FXi A6's since your sofa is against the back wall.

Agreed. In fact, Polk Customer Service recommends dipole mode for the sides and bipole mode for your back (rear wall) surrounds. Call and see....
