I figure I have about 20 bucks in it after i include the gas to go get it, the wire solder and tape to get it all working right.. A hi power 12ax7 pre with 12v6gt and 6l6 outputs. Stereo Tube Amp. aint real pretty but it rocks the garage with a cell phone as a source.

Nope, but you do have to know how to fix things if you go for the need repair type things. Thats what keeps me from lots of deals, I have NO SKILLS and do not have the time to aquire them. As such I either have to rely on others to help, or spend cash on items in working condition and those tend to cost a bit.
Congrats on the score though, she looks pretty "....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

I agree that does look like its "pulled" out of something. But still a great buy at 20 freaking dollars! With Ender..I also don't have the requisite skills to tweak such equipment but I am desperately looking to pick up something on the cheap, lower power 8-12 watts for my KLH 17s. They sound just wonderful on tubes!
Currently they're on my Marantz 2265 which is OK, but not "tubes"!
I don't know how you do it. But these are incredible purchases you come up with!
cnhCurrently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
Polk Lsi-7s, Def Tech 8" sub, HK 3490, HK HD 990 (CDP/DAC), AKG Q701s

For me I am just going to go with some KRK Rokits or those Paradigm powered monitors in my office at the house. I just dont have enough space to setup anything really good and vintage (unless I find a set of CRS for a ridiculous price, and those are pushing it still)
I wish my budget allowed me to run the Maggie Mini system as that would be friggin awesome!"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Does look like it's out of a console radio. Got the same thing in my basement.. rescued all the tube amp guts out of a 50's or early 60's Sears console radio before it got hauled off to the dump. Everything works fine.. just have to take the time and clean things up. I'm sure the amp could use to be freshened up a bit with new components.

This one is actually out of an Organ. but the console stereo amps work great. I proably have a dozen or so in the garage.. Easy Cl finds for 50 and under. Most dont require much technical skill at all just some cleaning up and a simple wood box makes a nice little ampHello Kitty am/fm CD player

This amp is an old Marantz console pull. It was dropped into a modern JVC chasis and dressed up with a wooden face plate. The Marantz emblem was added to pay homage to the console it was in originally.

Love it, good job.. Not only great sound, but the fact you did it yourself makes it sound that much better, so cheap and easy to do I am suprised we dont see a lot more custom jobs.. Im working on a Zenith this morning that I picked up last night. Ill post some pics later.Hello Kitty am/fm CD player

The OP's pull appears to be a two-channel organ amplifier. This amp is an old Marantz console pull. It was dropped into a modern JVC chasis and dressed up with a wooden face plate. The Marantz emblem was added to pay homage to the console it was in originally.
Magnavox, not Marantz. -
It is, a Conn 59092. has a power supply big enough to power this amp and about another 100 tubes distributed through out the organ. I would hate to touch the wrong wireHello Kitty am/fm CD player

Those other tubes are probably mostly US-made 12AU7s and well worth harvesting if you catch my drift :-)

You're right mhardy! BTW, I just re-read my post! I didn't do this. A friend of mine did. I used it to power my SRS 2's for a short period of time. They were sublime!2-channelBelles 22A Pre, Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2, Marantz SA8005, Pro-Ject RPM-10 Turntable, Pro-Ject Phono Box DS3B, Polk Audio Legend L800's, AudioQuest Cable throughout.

I've been salvaging tube amps from garages sales/thrift stores for years. Yes, you got a screamin deal for $20. As someone else mentioned, you could probably sell some of the used tubes that came with it for way more than your $20 investment.
