Great sounding speaker but, picky on what you put behind them and wire. Better with warmer but fast equipment I should explain. tube type pre SS amp.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Agree completely. I heard these a while back, can sound "great" with proper amplification combo, but "flat" and less dynamic unless you get the right gear in play!

Just demo'ed the Be version of these speakers, and they sounded good (electronics were all Halo). $9k good? No ma'am, but musical and detailed with great imaging. I kept thinking they sounded a little vailed or rolled off, but my eye is used to horn, so I must be biased.

Which one is better speakers for music only focal electra 1027s or focal chorus 836w?

I would go for the Electra 1027S if you can get the clearance price. $3500 for a pair of those is a great deal.

Isn't it that evrything inside the 1027s is the same as 836w except for the tweeter? In fact, 836w has three woofer more than tow from 1027s
