Been cruising c/l locally and saw some Polk sets for sale. 1st set were 11t towers for $150 and the other from another seller for series 1 monitor 70s for $300.Having financial constraints, I would lean for the less expensive pair but is that the right choice out of the 2.Both claim to good condition and living room presentable and for my use would be for 2-chl system.

Those are 2 very different speakers. What would you use them for, a 2-channel style music setup, or Home Theater?
For music only, I'd go with the RTA-11T's, but keep in mind they are a vintage speaker and would benefit from new tweeters and other mods. For HT I'd probably go with the Monitors, since they have a matching center channel speaker whereas the RTA's do not.
300 for the monitors seems high. I think newegg has them new for that price sometimes. 150 for the RTA-11's is good, as long as everything works.
edit: just saw you specified 2-channel. RTA-11T's ALL THE WAY!!! I'll admit I'm a bit biased towards vintage Polks, but it's for good reason. They are excellent speakers, and you'd be hard pressed to find anything that could touch them for double or triple the price... even unmodified. With mods, they can compete with speakers 10 times their price.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses
Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's -

Still wish i had bought the RTA11's back in 1989/1990 brand new. The local audio shop was going to give me one heck of a deal but I thought that the Cerwin Vegas would be my better choice......God if I only knew then what I knew now.....

I did go with the RTA11TL back in 1990/1991 when they were being cleared for the LS series. I have loved them ever since.Stan
