PSW505 vs DSWpro660wi

Got questions in regards to subs. What is the best way to hook a sub up to a receiver? Is it the LFE hookup I read about and does my Onk have that hookup? I know its got 2 sub plugs, just don't know if there is a diff.

Next is about which sub. The 505 comes with great reviews all around and tons of them with a great price. The 660 is new but also at a great price (when on sale) and wireless is a really sweet possibility later on. Not many reviews on it though. Which would you go with and why?

Another just wonder question is, when you get a sub setup, do you need to keep adjusting it for different things? Example would be swapping to diff types of music or from music to movies? I'd like a setup that I can fix and forget....if thats possible.

Those sub-outs on that Onkyo would be for running two different subs. Just use one, whichever.

The 660 is "hands down" the better sub though the 505 is a good sub in the 200 dollar range the 660 is a new breed of sub for Polk!

The Auto calibration on the Onkyo should take care of you. You can set the sub and leave it as is for most purposes. However, some like to run their subs a little HOT for some DVDs and BRDs (boost it a little, that's a personal decision. I usually leave mine at one setting once it's up and running).

    Good Luck!

You need a good sub cable with RCA ends. But isn't that sub "wireless" in which case you won't need to do anything but plug the wireless module into the Onkyo sub-out, I assume? The manual should provide those instructions.

Its wireless if you also buy the 'wireless kit' for about $120 from Polk. Its a cool feature but the wireless part will have to wait.

Got it. You should just buy yourself a good sub cable for now. If you're on a budget try an online dealer like monoprice.com If you have more to spend you can buy one of those heavily shielded cables that look like your namesake, a thick bodied snake that is!

Here are some cheaper coaxial cables:
