any detrement w/ towers

HI guys, being home all the time I get all sorts of ideas to change up my h/t set up. I took my 2 small Klipschs' out of the 2 front positions,and put in my 2 Infinity SM112s.Now we all agree that the Infinitys on there own are pretty weak and thin sounding but adding the sub into the equation has made them sound 10x better.The Klipsch now are on the Presence Zone which I really do not use because I moved my JBL2060s to the bedroom and are zone 2 and you can't do both. I tried it out watching a Bu/Ray the Fighter last night and while it's not a special effects spectacular it did work for me. I know timber matching is an issue but to me I see no problem w/ the move.All speakers now are w/ bananas and it's no problem to mix and match.On that speaker hunt I was offered a pair of Vandersteen Sig 1 w/ walnut tops for $850 from a guy in Baltimore whose on another forum,but cash is not happening so I'm w/ the Bose 601s for a while longer.

    Vandersteen Sig 1 w/ walnut tops for $850 ? for vandie ce2 sig thats an ok deal but, if it is the 1 then NO not a good deal at all.

    bose 601? is that the one with 2 woofers?

    Yes, each cabinet has 2-8in woofers and 4 tweeters arrayed up and out.I got them for $20 from an adult community where the people had them in an attic for 20yrs or so.They were sun bleached and the surrounds were all rotted out.I Olde Englished the cabinets,refoamed the surrounds,and replaced the grills w/ blacked out screen material.In all spent about $65 and some hours of my own labor and now if I flipped them they could get $200-300 on the high side from what's on E-Bay.
