Please let me know if you have or know where I can get a replacement MW6511. I have one that is blown. I'd be willing to pay to have it repaired, if that is possible. I need a new soldier to get these speakers back in action.
Thank you for any/all help.

I thought they were designed differently? If not, you have saved my day with this bit of news...

I posted a link to a DIY fixit thread, on your welcome home thread.........

I saw the thread but thought that was to deal with a speaker which experienced magnet shift... If the voice coil is shorted does that mean it can be removed and re-seated???

If the coil is shorted it is toast. You can get a replacement from polk or post a wanted ad amd maybe a fellow polkie will have a vintage replacent tjey could sell you. I have bought several used drivers here over the years and have never had a prob. I like to keep speakers original myself if poss. And if its a dementional driver and you buy new i ( speaking for myself only). I would buy a pair of new, so they match. If vintage i find tjat much less important as they will be vertiually identicle. Plus a vintage will cost aprox 30.00 or so. Lot of luck.Main Rig:
