Has anyone auditioned these? Never heard ANY KEF stuff. The uniQ driver sounds interesting.

There's a number of threads on KEF here. The older KEF is more magical and the higher end modern KEF worth the money. The iQ series is OK and they've been a long time user and pioneer of the concentric driver array but not as loved as Tannoy when it comes too the audiophile. I prefer vintage KEF and the only serious notable has been the Blade which has been reviewed in a couple mags already.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks for the info. NewEgg has the aforementioned speaker for 199 ea shipped. There was a a pair of Tannoy Mercury, something or other towers, for sale on CL locally, with a factory "audiophile" upgrade which consisted of upgrading the internal wiring and something else, i cant remember. Anyway, they sold before I got a chance to check them out.

Had the iQ3's Was not impressed with the build quality, but that sounded good. Very light cabinets.

I prefer the looks of the iQ series, but the new Q series sounds much better IMO.

I agree. You want to go with the newer Q 700 or 900, depending on which you can afford. Preferably the larger 900s!
