For sale is an Empire Troubadour 598 Transcriptor Turntable equipped with the very nice 990 tonearm and Empire1000Z/EX cartridge. The tonearm cable, arm lift, center lift magnet, and light are all working. The german motor in this TT is renown for its competency and reliability. The suspension, likewise, is in excellent shape. The aluminum chasis and plexiglass dustcover have acquired the usual small amount of oxidation that these are known to get, but is in sound shape all around. The black walnut plinth and housing is in nice shape and on a rack or credenza, this table looks especially nice. Even more impressive at night with the tracking light dimly highlighting the headshell and needle on the vinyl. Very nice.

This is an excellent sounding table. You would have to spend thousands on new equipment to get this quality. I had this at the same time as a Rega p3 with rb300 arm, as well as a pro-ject rpm 1.3 and the the other the Empire was handily preferable.

Included:
Some original paperwork
NOS Empire spare belt. This is important: it is a flat belt, not the new replacements that are round.
shure tracking force scale
shipping screw for the motor
tonearm cables
Empire 1000Z/EX cartridge
bombproof packaging

price: $475 shipped

I will add good pictures tonight.

So, funny turn of events. this sold this spring, but I have ended up with it back in my system after five months, as the neighbor who bought it from me asked if I wanted tobuy it back after they found out they were pregnant. A surprise to both, haha. Anyway, I did, and so now it is back for sale. I'll honor last years deal despite selling it for $525.

    $475 shipped and it's yours

Oh crap, that's close to me!! What a beautiful table. I always said I'd never do vinyl, but this is very tempting at the moment.
