Has anyone picked up this one yet. I read the reviews on it at Bluray.com ,sounds like the studio did a great job on the audio and video. Also read in some reviews that some have noticed a glitch on their BD's where the movie had a blip or stopped playing. Some have found by stopping the disc and opening and closing the disc loader that the problem never happens again. These were on BD's bought at Best Buy and Target and maybe a few other stores. Anybody have this issue with theirs?

Watching it now, about 30 minutes a night. The only issue I have had so far is common to many Blurays. It does not resume play from where stopped. This is on an Oppo 93.

My copy was delivered from Amazon on Monday and I watched it that night. I enjoyed this movie very much! PQ and SQ are both top notch. Some parts where the SQ stood out for me, other than the obvious explosions and such...

    1. The quiet scenes in the woods. You could here crickets and other subtle sounds all around you. Very immersive sound.
    2. When someone is killed during the games, a cannon is fired off. Take note of the cannon firing. You can feel it fire, but it's also very immersive, yet slightly echoey in the distance. It's a very well done and mixed sound effect.

I really hope they can carry on the look and feel of this movie into the others.
    No excuses!

There are 3 books in the trilogy, so it sounds like there will be another movie coming for the 2nd book , then 2 movies to cover the final book.

Hahah, Battle Royale. I remember buying that DVD so many years ago. Yeah, it's a pretty good movie. Some parts a little cheesey, but what can you do.

I haven't watched hunger games yet, is it a blatant rip off from Battle Royale?

I blind bought this Blu Ray - the picture and sound was great but the movie was a snooze fest for me.
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

My daughter had read the series, so HAD to have it. She watched it on a Samsung player a couple weeks ago. I watched it a week or two ago on Oppo 93. No problems either time. This copy was bt from Amazon.

I thought the movie was pretty good - exceeded (fairly low) expectations anyway. It made me wonder if the Revolution series that's filming here was going to be similar. I've seen bows & arrows, post-apocalyptic sets, weird outfits. JJ Abrams & Jon Favreau are producing, so I'm hoping that will last a good while.

Thanks for all of the replys guys. Sounds like all of your Hunger Games BD are playing fine. There were a number of people who bought the first couple of days after it's release having problems , but it appears most of those were bought at Best Buy. I'll wait and see if the price comes down a bit in the next couple of months and pick it up.
