If only using 2 channels through the power amp (Front r & l , and running the center and 2 surrounds through the receiver, am I going to realize a boost in the main2 speakers that are running through the power amp?? Before I get taking out speaker wires and redoing this I thought someone here may know the answer??

I don't think so, unless the amp has power Steering or similar tech.

I don't know how much you would notice it. I would think the miss matched power sources between the fronts and center would be a bigger deal than the slight increase in power by running only the L&R speakers off the amp.

Also rear surrounds don't put near as heavy of a load on the amp so by taking them off your really not gaining much.

I guess I would just leave all 5 on the amplifier if it was me.
