Very nice Harman Hardon HK 670 AM/FM receiver from 1979. Probably one of the 3 best receivers they ever made. This features 60 watts per channel of high current and has not problem driving low impedence loads. The sound quality is superb with a huge stage. I have had 3 of these and really like them but i need to stick with my HK integrated for now. It works perfectly and needs nothing.as it has been completely serviced. It is in very nice shape but there are some scratches on the top surface of the faceplate. The AM rod is also broken off. The A terminals have been updated for use with bananas but the originals will be included. The original power cord as been repaired as I use a detachable with my gear. The previous owner( a tech) did the following.

*Replaced ALL electrolytic Capacitors with the exception of the 4 Main Caps using brand new, Nichicon audio grade caps.
*All transistors mounted to heat sink were removed, cleaned, replaced heat with New sink compound and re-attached.
*Re-soldered weak and flat out Bad solder joints, particularly the Pre-amp and AM/FM Tuner boards.
*Lamps replaced.
*Cleaned all switches and pots with De-Oxit Cleaner, Then, 12 hours later, went back over all switches and pots and used De-Oxit Fader Lube.
*Used De-Oxit D100 on the Tuner Pivots to clean and remove tuner rumble.
*Set the Power Amplifier idling Adjustment to Factory Spec.
*Set the Output DC Voltage Zero to Factory Spec.

Asking $139 Thanks,KG

Hows the Grounding on the amp? With some of the late 70's and early 80's Gear ive had some bad luck with Harmonic distortion.

The hk670 is an uncommon and very good piece of hk hardware. TOTL receiver of its time; twin powered as well I believe (separate L and R channel power supplies). It is very low in harmonic and intermodulation distiortion, and reflects hk's (and designer Matti Otala's) focus on broad, flat frequency response and excellent transient response as significant parameters in high quality amplification.

The manual is available from hk at:

couple of interesting and more-or-less relevant threads on this fine receiver:

This is, I'd none-too-humbly opine, a terrific vintage receiver as described for the asking price.

I had the HK730 twin power. And it was the best piece of gear I owned for a long time. Just bought the Nad from this man. Stand up guy with great gear. Nad sounds awesome w my EV studios. GLWYS. Darryl

I have both a 430 and a 730. I suppose the caps should be upgraded in the 730 because the lower model has a 'sweeter' sound. A pair of Dynaco A25s run on the 430 are nothing short of a vintage "rush"! You will swoon if you're a fan!

Geppy's model above is heavier than a 730 and more powerful, it seems. It is also a Twin Power if I read the pic correctly (hard to see). If so, that's a great price for this model, not that the gepster needs any help here. Everything I've gotten from him (as Dabutcher says above) has worked perfectly!

HKs have a nice warmish sound to them, especially these earlier units. As mhardy informed me, many who run vintage Klipsch love these units for what they do with "horns"!

    GLWTS!
