This weekend, I scored a TOTL Polk SRT system. It comes with 2 controllers. but no setup manual. Does anyone have a PDF user manual? Polk website doesn't list it. Thanks

Nice, I assume you got the SDA rear surround speakers with it since it has the two controllers? Mind sharing what you paid? Pics?

yes, with rear SDA speakers too, but 1 tweeter and woofer are damaged. missing grill for 1 rear, no remote, average condition overall for its age. the whole system is huge.

actually, I didn't pay for it with cash. I fixed 3 computers in his home and this SRT system is his to pay me. he unplugged it for 3 yrs ago and stored in the closet because his boss (wife) didn't like the size. I don't blame her, this thing is huge. I rather get LsiM if I were her. does anyone know the average cost for this system with average condition, scratch here and there.

So, you reformatted and installed operating systems on three computers, and you got an SRT system as payment?

Yes you did make out like a bandit on that one. I do stuff like that and all I get is "thanks man...You want a beer?" or "thanks dad".
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

I tested this system today. Big problem, The Right subwoofer amp burned every fuse(same type/rating) I put in. At first, I thought it would be an easy fix by just replacing a fuse, but after 3 burned, I think I've serious problem here. The amp has two parts, the small board that has a fuse at the power connector.

Anyone in Phoenix area good as this stuff to help me fix it for a fee? I'm good with computer programming, but sadly clueless when it comes to electronics.

Each box has 2 massive 10" sub inside.

I wouldn't call them massive, an SVS/TC Sounds is massive, this is a generic Polk 10" subwoofer driver. I've had a pair of SRT mains sitting in my closet for years as they're a serious commitment to get connected and I don't need the hassle.

Your amplifier has a short or a blown component. You should VOM it all out and see where the problem is as it should be fairly obvious.

I've been replacing with T5AL 250V fuse (same as the burned one). Should I tried another value?
Now, I know why they aren't using this system for yrs.

    Hello,
No, the fuse value should remain the same. In all likelihood there is something wrong with the bass amplifier. Check to see if Polk's service department is able to examine your amp. Their phone is 1-800-377-7655 and the email is polkcs@polkaudio.com.

I agree with Ken and I meant to say amplifier, not crossover earlier. Sorry for the typo.

    Ken,
I googled this SRT set and found a thread 9 yrs ago mentioning about how great a CS you were. Are you still working at Polk?
You probably know the most of the current situation/parts. Do you know if Polk still selling the amp or fix it? what about other parts of the SRT system? do Polk still sell these at all? I need some feet for the woofers too. I'd be shocked if Polk no longer carry parts or support this system, while supporting SDA with new drivers.

usually how long does it take for them to reply? I sent an email yesterday and another one today regarding user manuals and amp, still no replies.

Polk does not support this amp nor do they fix it John. This should be obvious since they don't even support the RTixxxxp series amps anymore.

It's the small board or input board that's fried. Most likely it may have damaged your plate amp as well. That's a fairly common problem with the SRT sub modules. It will be difficult getting the input board repaired. You'll be better off modding the subwoofers or finding a good tech willing to repair the board without a schematic. If you're going to have a tech look at the board, have him test the caps and diodes.
Btw, don't bother getting any meaninful parts from polk. I got the last major parts they had available a few years ago.
You may be able to get tweeters or regular drivers but nothing else.

if that is true. that is a huge disappointment! considering this is the most expensive, the best from Polk. Now they just forget about it ever existed? while they invested R&D to remake many SDA tweeters.

and there is no way to get a schematic?

    Hello nhhiep,
I retired from Polk a few years ago, but I still help them with the occasional writing or marketing research project and I help with CP. I'm pretty sure Polk can provide the schematic for the bass amplifier. Have you received a response to your email yet?
Let me contact Kim and see what he has available.

Thanks Ken and Nap for being super helpful. The user manual is 82 pages, yes, 82 :) as if I am reading a book. One thing I found out from the manual is that I don't have to use 2 subs, since SDA feature doesn't utilize subs/tweeter in the SRT. So even with 2 10" in 1 tower is more than enough for my room, for now. I am afraid to ship it because if UPS loses/damages it, there is no way for me to get a replacement since Polk don't make it anymore. If there is anyone here locally in Phoenix, AZ area knows how to fix it for a fee, please let me know. I've the diagram from Ken.

For damaged parts, can I still buy it directly from Polk? Here are what I need:
    SL6500 and MW5807 - rear SDA speaker
    MW5807 - front SDA speaker
    what about grills?

Ken or anyone, do you know why the tweeters in the main and rear have different part#. Rear is SL6500, front is SL6501 ?

And to power this SRT system, I just bought 3 HK Citation 7.1 amps for $1575 shipped. Plan to run them in bridge mode, each amp can put out 450 WPC x2. I've been looking for these for months to replace my Citation 5.1. Perfect timing.

    What do you think?

    Hello,
Usually when there is a similar part number and one has a "1" at the end it could mean one is magnetically shielded and the other isn't. Similar overall design just a minor variation.
    Enjoy, Ken

is SL6501 just a magnetically shield version of the SL6500? it does make sense though because the rear speakers won't be anywhere near the TV. I just want to make sure because the SL6500 is harder to find than SL6501.

No more grills. Drivers may be available. Just enjoy them naked. They look awesome and sound better without the grills.
The citation amps are a good start. Just remember the center speaker is 4 ohms.

I am in litchfield park, but willing to drive. you have the SRT system too? from what I read, they only sold 250 systems in USA, another 250 outside.

I also go to San Jose monthly, if anyone here from there can help me. Please let me know.
