New guy to the forum. Have an operational set of SRS 3.1TL speakers and an aged,out-of-date amp and pre-amp that are alternatingly on the frizt. Tired of dumping $$ into them and want to replace that combo with something new that will work within a digital home theater set-up. I love the speakers and want to incorporate them into a new system to include a LCD or Plasma T.V., Blue-ray,etc. Not sure how to hook them up with out self-destructing any components and even what type of electronics to buy. I'm mostly interested in music and movies and think an A/V receiver would be suited to the task, but am unsure as to what the technical characteristics of that device should be (watts/channel,etc.). Can anyone give me guidance on what type of device to purchase and any other pertinent information? I am ready and willing to learn.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Pioneer SC-35/37's and up will give you function you need today and the ability to grow with tommorow. This would be where I would start.

Hey, thanks for that info. I guess I'm looking for more generic information regarding the safety of my speakers and the receiver together and what I'd need to be aware of before hooking up the speakers to an A/V receiver. I'm only familiar with standard stereo componets and not the multi-channel receivers used with home theater systems. Will there be compatability issues?
