Talked to a good friend of mine today who is not big into music or audio, but knows that I have a vinyl collection and knows my taste, so if he sees something cheap he'll call or pick it up for me.

So he tells me he tried to call yesterday, and I say, "I know, sorry I was at work." I ask him what he wanted. He says, "Oh nothing. I saw some records at a garage sale, but I called Tim (my other vinyl friend) instead. I say, "Cool, what did he get? He says, "a Johhny Cash and a Beatles." I say, "Which Beatles?" He says, "Yesterday or something?" I say "Ummmmm....let's call Tim."

Turns out, YEP, IT'S THE FREAKING BUTCHER COVER. Second state, very good condition.

My best estimation of value based on condition and a little research is $700-$1,000. He paid $10.

Those two are going to work something out between them, but had I just picked up the phone.

Oh well. As I said.....good for a friend.

My mother had a second-state Butcher cover that was sealed until I found it. If I had only known then:redface:...

They are not going for as much these days I know where I can get a good copy for about 250 if you want it.

You would know better than me. My research was limited, but there were a few getting a pretty penny on the bay. It's in really good condition.

    However, it is the mono.

It is my understanding that the mono is the one to have anyway. Should be worth more than the stereo version as I recall.

Weirdly, on this one I think the stereo is worth more.

Regardless, would be pretty sitting on my shelf. Maybe I could "loan" it for awhile:cheesygrin:

Would be a tough choice on wheather to sell or not.

From what I've read, the second state's are actually increasing in value as more people attempt to peel.

Very nice ! I am envious. Stereo / Mono would not matter to me, hands down my favorite band.
