After selling my MV Agusta F41000S I missed riding. Had a break during work this week and went to a local shop. Spotted this mint 2010 GSXR 1000 with 3000 miles and had to have it. Got it for a great price as well. Already did some cool mods to it as well. I won't track it but just something to ride on the street, the gym, and office. Sick fast too boot.
Mods will include Sato Racing Rearsets, Iridium Windscreen, Harris Grips, Healtech Xtre, Galfer brakes, Jardine GP1 exhaust, Pazzo shorty levers, Braketech Rotors, 520 conversion kit with gold chain/sprocket, Carbon fiber rear hugger/chainguard and few more odds and ends. Debating on the Carrozeria wheels. Some mods have already been done.

Very cool! I've really got the itch to get another bike, my first was an 07 Gixx 600. I'm leaning more towards something like this however:

How the hell does a bike travelling at those speeds stay glued to the road when it's leaning over so far? I would think that ANY imperfection or a stray rock would be enough to send bike and rider for an ugly slide. Hat's off to those of you that can do this, but I will keep the ponies under hood on four tires instead of two.

REALLY EXPENSIVE tires...haha And being smooth on the inputs. There's lot of imperfections/bumps/sealer/seams etc at the texas tracks. You learn to deal with them. If you look in my picture, you can see if you're a couple feet off the race line, you're on cement instead of asphalt. Still plenty grippy, but the seam can be unsettling.
And that's not even leaned over that far. Here's a pic of my fav motoGP fast guy and fellow Texan.
THAT'S lean angle...haha. But their tracks are a lot smoother than the ones around here...and the bike is literally close to 50x more expensive than mine.

You ain't kidding! And that's EXACTLY what I tell people when they say you're crazy for riding like that. "No, whats REALLY crazy is I'm wearing a damn black kangaroo when its 110* in the sun and 160* on the pavement."

Don't do much riding anymore even though I have one sitting in the garage. Riding in the Dallas area sucked the passion out of it for me. Do they have tiered licensing in Japan? If yes how hard was it to get to the unlimited license?

Gov't personnel have tiered licenses now. It's been like that for some time now, due to military guys coming back from the war with all that cash buying Superbikes with no experience and killing themselves with the high speed. Now they have 400-600, 601-750, 751-1000 and above license classes. I've had my license before all those changes so I was good, but for the newcomers they have to ride in each lower class a yr before allowed to upgrade. Also they can't ride with a passenger for 6 months after being licensed. I like the new rules, we were losing guys out here left and right at one point.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I agree and I wish they had the same requirements in the U.S. The performance of modern superbikes is tremendous and it makes no sense to put one in the hands of a new rider. But anyone can walk in a buy one if they have money. Please post up pictures of your bike after it finished.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

I don't agree with your above statement, MADGSF. No offense to you at all but you can't regulate stupidity. Anyone with a license can purchase any "cage" they want and still kill themselves just as easily, whether it be an old "Yugo" or Porsche.
I do own two bikes but neither of them are sport bikes. Never cared to own one but I am amazed at the talent some people have when riding them. That kind of riding belongs on the track and some who own them never go the track. Unfortunately, they still practice on the street.
Nice looking machine, btw!Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me -
Here are some pics with the mods and other goodies added. Its done for now. Happy camper here.
