Eagerly waiting for this one. One of the few movies I saw at the Theater this year. Have been waiting to get my hands on this DVD ever since. One of the best reviewed movies ever. Got to LOVE Pixar!!!!!!

A few visual nit pickers at AVS forum already started in with this one claiming Pixalization, EE and background problems. BUT, all "pro" reviews give it a huge reference thumbs up in the sound and video quality. WSR gave it an excellent score. And I have been quite happy with DVDTALK'S reviews.

Anyway going to have a full house on 11/4 - going to be a blast!!
Hot Off The Press - Here ya go:

Finding Nemo Review

WSR Picture Rating: 5
DD Sound Rating: 5+
And this guys are picky - if anyone have a wed subscribtion for WideScreen Review - i'm sure there is a good detailed picture and sound review.

Just returned from BB and picked up Finding Nemo w/ a free soft CD case, Friends Season 5 and Duran Duran's greatest DVD. That was a quick $83.00.

Have yet to see Finding Nemo, heard a lot of good stuff about it.

    Peace Out~:D

This is the second Disney DVD I have ordered direct from Disney. The first was the LionKing that I preordered FROM Disneyland and now Nemo from thier website. LK was SEVEN days late. Now Nemo is not freaking here. I will never preoder from Disney again.
I can go to WalMart and get it cheaper. Defies the whole point of PREORDERING.
    I order about 3 games (ps2) a year from EBGAMES.COM
In three years I have got every game on the street date or before, even if they had to pay for Next Day Air. That is how bussiness is done now-a-days.
I have about 10 friends coming over tonight. Guess I have to go pick up Nemo now..................

This movie was special for me. It was my daughters first theatre movie at age 3. We waited for 30min. in line and when we got to the front of the line they put up a sold out sign. Talk about peaced off . The next showing was in 2hrs. I was just geting ready to try and explain to her when I felt this tugging at my pant legg. Daddy please can we see the movie. So being the deicated father I am I purchased 2 tickets for the 7:30 show and walked into the 5:30 show. There had to be 50 empty seats. It was worth the trip.

I enjoyed it much better on my new HT. Sometimes I think the theatres put so much emphasis on volume that they lose some sound quality. This was my first test showing for my system and it performed well. I could hear every little sound with certainty and accurate base IMHO. I sill have much work to do. One of these days I will unveil it here . :D

    scottvamp,

i stopped preordering about a year ago.. just for that reason... i'd get the DVD's about 3 or 4 days after the street release. it sucked!! plus shipping isn't any cheaper than paying taxes at the store.

So now I find the best price locally..and have been very happy with being able to have it the day of release.

My kid bought this yesterday with some B'day $. I hadn't seen it yet and watched the whole thing last night. VERY good flick. And that scene you mentioned above? Yep, I need to get everybody out of the house and crank it, too. :)

I also watched this movie last night. Man, does this movie make an SVS shine! The whole room was shaking and the scene where the girl taps on the glass was amazing. I wouldn't trade my current setup for anything.

Tuesday I had a FN get together and a few of my friends brought over thier KIDS. Cool kids movie right. Ages 4/5/6 --- well the "sound" scared the hell out of them. They were all freaked out and holding the ears and turning away. I never noticed how every 10/15 minutes something "scary" happened in this movie. Something we as adults take for granted. Baracuda attack, driver capture, sharks, light fish and everything else. I guess they are use to thier 13" tv's with built in VCR's - no volume and ignore the "scary" parts. My kids are going to be cheering when the THX trailer kicks in - going TURN IT UP DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

finally watched Finding Nemo last night..

what a great fun movie... it's just a well done flick. Yes it will give your sub a workout too. the Darla scene with the fish tank and the whale scene too, it's incredible.. the character of Dori is funny.. they did a good job with hiring the right actors for the voices.

Ditto on the tap scene, I think my 505 hit bottom. I think it's funny that a cartoon is the first movie I had to turn the PSW505 down. Sure would like to hear the tap on an SVS.;)

A guy over in Slovania (Rudi B) at HTF ran some RTA stuff on Nemo.

If you care to, search HTF for his posts. It was within the last two weeks.

IIRC, the tank tapping scene had a bunch of strong 30 Hz stuff. The PB2+ rattled everything in the room, including the back of the HDTV. I've gotta fix that............
