    Sad, but you might want to check the date on that article. It was two years ago.

    He is definitely one of my all time favorites. What an original!

    Saw them in 2006 in a 2500 seat venue in Durham, NC, designed for music/plays, etc. originally built in the 30's. One of the best shows I've ever seen. He was at the top of his game.

    Google Richie and read a little about his life. There's an article by Bill Payne sharing some of his memories about Richie that's interesting and heartwarming.
