Value of Peerless tweeters?

I recently upgraded my Monitor 5B speakers to RDO tweeters (long story.... there was a mismatch between tweeter and crossover.....early vintage Peerless tweeter and older vintage crossover with only one 2.7 ohm resistor). Thanks to many on this board, especially H9, I made a number of upgrades including tweeters and crossovers. I now have what I think are a perfect pair of Peerless tweeters that I would like to see. I believe they are the earlier Danish Peerless tweeters with 7514XXX markings.

What would be a decent price for these? I believe I saw $40 each on the Sales section of Club Polk. I do not have enough posts to actually post them for sale here, but I am interested in knowing what I should expect once I can.

Also, any one aware of any other applications for this tweeter? I believe ADS also used Peerless but I am not sure it was this model of tweeter. Thanks for you help.

I don't think I've ever paid even close to $40.00 apiece for Peerless on here from a CP member. That amount seems more in line with ebay prices IMO.

This is where I saw it:
    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?134395-polk-parts

The Peerless were listed for $40 each, and it was the latest post that I saw where Peerless tweeters were listed.

I will keep them before I resort to EBay.....I am just trying to guage what is realistic. I saw earlier posts for $25 and $35 each, and the last one was for $40, maybe just wishfull thinking on my part....

StuartB, there are two avenues you can go here if/when you reach enough posts to sell on the forum.

Typically in the Forum one tries to sell things at a discount as a gesture of goodwill to other Polkies. The discount being lower than Ebay pricing, etc.

But that isn't the rule, sometimes people need to make the cash back in order to offset another purchase.

It's up to you and your wallet to decide if you want to get current market pricing or if you want to give a little back and sell for a lower price than is typical. Some choose to "karma" items or just pass the item along for shipping.

Entirely up to you how to handle it.

I'd say $40-50/pr. as they are desirable. Or if you wanted to do a goodwill offering maybe $25/pr. Something like that it is nice to give the forum 1st opportunity since they might be a need amongst the active posters.

It might have ceased to be in operable condition in transit. Contact seller, then, if needed, ebay and paypal to work a resolution. It is the sellers obligation to see that you receive what you bought and paid for. Unless it was sold in as-is/unknown condition. If the carrier borked the item, the seller has a claim with them.
