I have never had the pleasure of hearing KEF speakers. I was always intrigued with the coaxial driver arrangement. Have any of you guys heard them, and if so, what did you think of them.

I was never wowed by them. Their R and Q series are definitely worth checking out though.

The vintage KEF has more staying power than the recent series they offer. Aside from the reference but that's a statement product. I've owned some Q series and just missed the older ones.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The Reference series are KEF's pinnacle line. The only speakers that are another notch above are the Blade & Muon but they are strictly 2 channel, no surrounds or center here. I'm currently running a 9.2 system with all New Q series except for the front presence speakers which are Def Tech Pro Monitor 1000's.

I have to tell you for both HT & 2 channel they rock!!! Whether it's quiet dialog, explosives, rain & bulletts whizing by your head they are dead on. Yet so sophisticated when playing in 2 channel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you get your ears on a pair of any KEF line.
