I have never had the pleasure of hearing KEF speakers. I was always intrigued with the coaxial driver arrangement. Have any of you guys heard them, and if so, what did you think of them.

I was never wowed by them. Their R and Q series are definitely worth checking out though."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

The vintage KEF has more staying power than the recent series they offer. Aside from the reference but that's a statement product. I've owned some Q series and just missed the older ones.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The Reference series are KEF's pinnacle line. The only speakers that are another notch above are the Blade & Muon but they are strictly 2 channel, no surrounds or center here. I'm currently running a 9.2 system with all New Q series except for the front presence speakers which are Def Tech Pro Monitor 1000's.
I have to tell you for both HT & 2 channel they rock!!! Whether it's quiet dialog, explosives, rain & bulletts whizing by your head they are dead on. Yet so sophisticated when playing in 2 channel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you get your ears on a pair of any KEF line."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.
