Testing the waters here too see if there is any interest. Cards were purchased less than a year ago from Memory Express and had no hassle extended warranty purchased on these. Cards work fine otherwise.

Currently using one as the other is boxed up since I can only utilize one with my sound card as I am limited to two PCIe slots. As such I will be moving to a single card solution. Some users here know of my anal cleaning habits with my computer equipment so rest assured, these cards are and have been well cared for. If a card should happen to die on you after purchase, I will assist you in securing a replacement through the warranty process.

Originally paid over $700+, I'm asking $480 + shipping. I will not separate the cards unless two parties are interested.

Very very nice cards there. One of the few crossfire setups that will suck more power under load than my current 5870s.

I'd love to run these in my Mac Pro 5,1 but am not sure if they will work or not. I've read conflicting reports of whether or not a 69xx card will work in the Mac Pro.

If only you bought PC!

I honestly have no idea for sure if these can be run due to the hardware limitations. Do your research.

FWIW, these are the non-reference design PCB's (First Series). They DO make water blocks for these. Yes I had crazy thoughts...

What are the power requirements and the overall MOBO issues listed on the packaging?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I know it's not the packaging, but here is a breakdown of the performance of a single 6970 and 6970s in crossfire. Load power consumption for two appears to be around 600W.

Here is a link to the product page with all the specs: http://www.hisdigital.com/ca/product2-577.shtml

It recommends 550w or greater; I ran this with a Corsair 750w PSU and wouldn't use anything less than that to run both. I never OC'd the cards so whatever their potential, I'll really never know. I didn't want to chance NOT having enough power.

As far as MOBO issues...? You lost me. Only issue is they are LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!

Edit: I went to go fetch the invoice for these and have to clarify something. These are actually older then I originally thought. I guess I thought I bought these right before my birthday last year, never the less, the cards were purchased June 16, 2011. So with that, the extended warranty expires June 16, 2013 should something fail. I can't revise my original post but I feel rather silly about this error.

I meant that in processor size and such Drenis. It's clearly a man's video card and that voltage makes that painfully clear. It's a super pair of cards and I'm just not sure I need to SLI. Thanks for the information.

There is no requirement, but I'd recommend a decent I5 or I7.

FYI, on Overclock.net you can purchase a bracket for @ $10 each that will allow you to use a CPU water cooler on the GPU.

I'm actually looking to go to a single card myself. I just started back on Steam maybe all of a few hours from where I haven't played since July of last year. Priorities went elsewhere so buying these was a waste. I paid $799 to game like a king but woman are evil. :(

    Motherboard: Gigabyte P55M-UD4
    CPU: Intel i5 750 2.66Ghz OC'd to 3.4Ghz
    RAM: Mushkin Blackline 4x2GB(8) PC3-12800 1.65v
    SSD: Intel X25-M G2 160GB

I used the crossfire for all of maybe two months then out it came for what is my current setup.

I just went to a new Intel MOBO with i7 3.3, 4GB Corsair DDR3-1600(Reused), eVGA GTX560Ti. This is my first Intel MOBO and I wish I had stuck with ASUS since I have constant driver issues since that's all I've used over the years. It's just a painful swap and making me regret doing it....and I may still bring it back and go back to ASUS.

though i am AMD, i have 990FX Sabertooth, and it is hands down the best board i have ever owned. best BIOS, best power delivery, best overclocking at its price point, and i have heard nothing but the same about the Intel counterparts. its only down point was slot placement when i was running Xfires 6970, but i have since gone to a single card solution.
these 6970's are power houses and somebody should buy them... especially anyone still gaming on a 5xxx card. the 6970 in Xfire scale infinitely better than the former series, and DX11 is just incredible, though i realize nothing all that new anymore.

Crossfire scaling between the 5000 series and 6000 series was not much improved. The main difference between the two was a drastic improvement in efficiency.

Regardless, it is definitely a pair that is worth it for someone that wants to upgrade once and keep them for a long time. DX11 is still in its infancy in terms of implementation in games.

6970s generally run cooler, quieter, and have similar performance to the GTX480.

my apologies.all i meant was two 6970's offered a much better performance boost than 2 5870's, in my personal experience. i thought that was scaling....
and all i meant was that DX11 cards aren't all that new. i will attempt to be more precise in my posts.

No interest in these at all?

I would consider separating if I had two confirmed buyers.

I'm sure there are plenty of interest. I've been a PC builder for many many years, member of a few overclocking forums. The 6970 is a nice card, but the new 7XXX series have really driven down the value of the 6XXX cards.

    Good luck with the sale.
