Thoughts on Harmon Kardon Citation 17 pre-amp

Still working my way through the vintage reciever v. headphone amp question. Found a Harmon Kardon Citation 17 for ~200. Looks pretty interesting and supposedly a very good piece from them.

Curious as to any thoughts from the group on this item. Primary use would be for headphones with use later on possibly as a pre for a 2 channel system...

    The headphone section in most preamps and AVRs is going to be a compromise at best and typically an afterthought. Someone else can chime in with thoughts on that particular model, but even on my HK 3490 the headphone section was just OK. I like HK gear though, and I bet would would make a great preamp.
