In the system, just came today. Guy had a nice on Ebay so I got it. I know I was going to get one with HDMI but I'll live without. This bad thing weighs at least three times as much as my old sony:eek:

It looks good with my 3910 above it:wink:

That's a great sounding receiver. And what a nice stack! What's the player on top?

it's a Denon 2800, I use it for Cd's because the 3910 stopped reading them lol. pretty crappy but it's all good, my old magnavox sounds just as good:)

I can't wait to crank this bad boy up on Star Wars or Lord of the Rings! should sound awesome! I still need to use the setup mic though.

AH! sweet! Yeah I remember reading one of your posts in one of my other threads but didn't know that was your main system:) Yes, this beast of a receiver, compared to the sony at least, looks great with the 3910. I was amazed at how many different settings you can make on this thing, crazy! But nice and convenient because the sony didn't have assignable inputs etc.

    thank you

How much did you end up paying for that? Curious what the going rate is these days. There is lots of good used gear out there for those willing to sacrifice HDMI. I've been thinking about making a change in my office system.

    It was $240 with shipping.

Only thing is he didn't have the manual or Box, but it was packed in an Integra 70.3 box and that receiver is a giant! I honestly only will need the manual for the mic. And I don't think the power cord was original because it had 3 prongs which none of that really matters because I probably won't get rid of it. He also had the setup mic(s) haven't used them, I'll read up on that eventually. I was going to spend close to $400 on one complete but decided that was way too much. There are some on Ebay if you want to see going rates.

Congrats on your purchase. I've owned the 3805 since 2005 and it's been a great AVR. Never any problems, good functionality, nice output and good sound. The manual takes a couple of times to read through but the onscreen display is easy. You picked it up at a nice price too.

@ cfrizz, I have the manual downloaded already, thank you though:)

3312ci looks nice, it's got all the hookups you'll ever need.

It's an awesome thing, big and weighs a ton, and oh yes, plenty of functionality for sure!! I understand why some people don't like them because of the tedious setup

Congrats! A bit old but a great AVR. I really like the older Denon sound. Those older units also have almost a bullet proof build as Thorton proves above!

The only real problem with them is the **** manual. A lot of the menus are at levels you would not expect and some things are counter-intuitive.

    Enjoy it!

I will enjoy it, I am now. it took me all of my strength to set it in that rack, it's soooo heavy! but it is awesome. I did read some of the manual and it is a mess, I really only needed a few pages... out of the 140. It's built like a tank.
